This lesson will focus on Score Interpretation. The previous lesson, Standardized Scores, deals with score interpretation as well, but this lesson deals with somewhat more advanced topics, both philosophically and technically. The two basic philosophical approaches to interpretation, criterion-referenced and norm-referenced, are presented. The emphasis in this chapter, though, is on the norm-referenced approach, and you will learn about norms, norming, and test score equating.
