About This Lesson As with any new endeavor, one of the challenges to using data within your school is simply getting started. This lesson will introduce you to a technique called the “data retreat”, which has been successfully used to help schools kick-off the continuous improvement process. You will learn that there are different types of data retreats that can meet the varying goals within a school. Yet you will find that at each data retreat, a common process is used that consistently ends with the creation or revision of goals and action plans. As you will see, data retreats are a useful practice for beginning and then sustaining the continuous improvement process over time.
